The Verb is King

VERBUM TERTIA PARS ORATIONIS: est quod cum tempore et persona sine casu agere aliquid/ aut pati aut neutrum significat. Et figuratur per Regem: quod subiecta figura & distichon adiunctum satis clare exprimit.

Rex verbum designat agens patiensque inimicos

The Verb is the Third Part of Speech: It is what signifies to do or suffer something or neither. It has tense and person, but not case, and is represented by a King. Which the figure below and the adjoining distich expresses clearly enough:

The king symbolizes the Verb, by acting on and being acted upon by enemies,
And sometimes by doing neither, when peace is strong.
