The article notes in an early passage details about the early Pirckheimer family and in second quote details
to a Lazzarelli manuscript
about the tournament in 1466 in Padova in the possession of Pirckheimer. The article raises doubts about the
correct dating of the tournament,
the author suggests, that the tournament took place around 1450, mainly based on the observation, that an
honoured rector of the university inside the text John Chadworth or John Chedworth,
addressed as "Archidiaconius Linconiensis et iuristarum Patavii rector" is identified as the bishop of Lincoln from 1452 - 1471.
- A.D. 1452-1471. John Chadworth, Canon of Lincoln, and Provost of Queens' College, Cambridge, was elected after the see had been vacant for more than twelve months. In 1454 Bishop Chadworth, and Waynflete, Bishop of Winchester, were appointed
by Henry VI to revise the statues of his two royal colleges at Eton and Cambridge.
But this John Chadworth is noted as Provost at Queen's college since 1447 till 1452, then becoming bishop.
So there is a general problem about the identity of the Chadworth in Padova.

Note to Lazzarelli's tournament text
Note: Willibald Pirckheimer was in Nuremberg friend of Dürer. Dürer painted Mantegna Tarocchi motifs,
likely in 1495 during his journey to Venice, and Dürer had learnt from Wolgemut,
who tried to use woodcut Mantegna Tarocchi
motifs inside a book-project, which never realised (1493 - 1497). Likely there
is natural context between Wolgemut working at the book project and Dürer painting Mantegna Tarocchi in
Italy (likely an unknown commission from the side of Wolgemut). The involvement of the Pirckheimer family,
which by lucky accident has an early Lazzarelli manuscript in their possession,
looks in the moment still as a real accident.
