hi visitor, while you sit there in your home staring into the monitor with all these crazy pictures (oh, you really still miss them?), you may wonder, where they all come from, these Tarot cards ... and also you may wonder, what this strange page is all about. Well, you're for the moment in our Museum, but generally this page is about Tarot history and about the question, how Tarot developed once, long ago. The question has at least a proud age of more than 200 years, at least we do know from Court de Gebelin, who raised in 1781 a few questions with the astonishing statement, that they would all come from Old Egyptia. A nice try ... at least some found a reason to laugh about it ... but since then likely 100.000's or even millions of private debates took place and engaged in the riddle. Now there has established meanwhile in the year 2006 a deciding advantage against earlier attempts .... we live in the time of internet and human knowlwedge has a chance to sort its ends better as it was possible before without it. ... :-) and a handful of heroes has united to hunt the riddle down. Well ... the heroes are we ... ... but likely you're completely desinterested, who and what we're, I just assume, you're a serious student anf you just wanna immediately know, what the riddle is, not bothering what the details, just the major points, how, when and what and forget it. This we do love and appreciate, here go on and find it out, just round the corner right, then 200 meter straightaway and the second crossing to the left, then number 666 and everything is okay ... sorry, I couldn't resist, you've to excuse, the webmaster here has his funny sides (... please, excuse, we are Tarot historians and that's a sure way to learn about the ways of mankind) and this was only a joke, and please ...take this ... and I hope, we served you well and you find the right place to start with.
