Daphne reappears
The Chapter Oldest Tarot Cards describes the Michelino deck, commissioned near the year 1425 by Filippo Maria Visconti and painted by Michelino da Besozzo. It was accompanied by a manuscript from Martiano da Tortona. In 1449 this deck was called a Trionfi deck, although it definitely had a lot of differences to that what is nowadays recognized as Tarot cards. The chapter is the first of a series which considers the development of Tarot cards during 15th century. Author: when not otherwise specified, autorbis. Copyright: trionfi.com.
