Trionfi.com has its focus on Tarot History and especially the origin of Tarot in 15th century, also the representation of about 100 000 Tarot and other playing cards in the Tarot Museum.
The Chapter Oldest Tarot Cards describes the Michelino deck, commissioned near the year 1425 by Filippo Maria Visconti and painted by Michelino da Besozzo. It was accompanied by a manuscript from Martiano da Tortona. In 1449 this deck was called a Trionfi deck, although it definitely had a lot of differences to that what is nowadays recognized as Tarot cards. The chapter is the first of a series which considers the development of Tarot cards during 15th century.
